Comics of Care: Healing Through Graphic Medicine
What role can art and storytelling play in understanding health? This book exhibit explores comics, graphic novels, and memoirs from UC San Diego Library's Graphic Medicine Collection.
The Work on Display
These works share personal stories about facing illness and finding care. A single drawing can capture what is hard to put into words. The collection offers insights from people who have navigated health challenges.
About the Exhibit
Comics of Care is presented in connection with The Science of Story, a celebration of storytelling across UC San Diego during Comic-Con week. The collection was assembled by UC San Diego librarians Jeffery Loo, Karen Heskett, and Zemirah Ngow.
The exhibit is on view in the Sally T. WongAvery Library breezeway from June 29 to September 13, during regular building hours.
The exhibit is for anyone interested in the connection between health, art, and personal narrative.
