Dr. Seuss's Boids & Beasties | Exhibition

Dr. Seuss's Boids and Beasties is an exhibition at Geisel Library at UC San Diego. It opens Wednesday, July 22, 2026 and is on view during the building's open hours.

What You'll See

The show features original drawings, sketches, and works from the library's Dr. Seuss Collection. Theodor Seuss Geisel, a long-time La Jolla resident, donated these personal items to UC San Diego. The collection focuses on his whimsical and fantastical creatures, which he called Boids and Beasties.

The exhibition is located on the 2nd main floor in the Exhibition Gallery and the adjacent hallway.

Geisel's work is fun but carries a serious purpose. His creations teach reading, self-confidence, and the possibilities of our imaginations.
