Night Fishing

Night Fishing at Lake Poway runs Friday, July 31, 2026, with the shoreline and boats open until 11:30 p.m. Fishing is available from 6 a.m. through 11:30 p.m. Lake Poway is at 14644 Lake Poway Road, Poway, CA 92064.

The Night Bite

The lake stocks catfish for the summer night program, though the stock schedule can change. Anglers can fish from shore or take a boat out past normal hours.

Permits and Cost

Daily fishing permits run $7 for adults, $3 for seniors 55 and older, $4 for military with ID, and $3 for youth ages 8 to 15. Children 7 and under fish free with a paid permit.

When It Runs

Night fishing runs every Friday and Saturday night from July 10 through September 5.

The program gives Poway anglers a chance to fish the cooler evening hours through the peak of summer.
