2026 San Diego Tri Classic & San Diego 5K

The San Diego Triathlon Classic and San Diego 5K take place on September 12, 2026 at Liberty Station, 2455 Cushing Road in the Point Loma area of San Diego. The swim is in San Diego Bay, the bike route runs through Point Loma past Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, and the run follows the Liberty Station waterfront. The Olympic triathlon starts at 6:15 am, the sprint at 7:20 am, and the 5K at 7:30 am.

Distances

The Olympic triathlon covers a 1500-meter swim, 40K bike, and 10K run. The sprint covers a 500-meter swim, 20K bike, and 5K run, and is also offered as a three-person relay. Aquabike, duathlon, and aquathlon options are available, along with a standalone 5K run.

Registration

Entry is $44.15 for the 5K, $181.43 for the sprint triathlon, and $290.83 for the Olympic triathlon, including fees. Prices increase after July 31, 2026.

Liberty Station is a former naval training center on San Diego Bay. The flat waterfront course suits San Diego triathletes and runners who want a scenic, historic route.
