A Space for All of Us
The Museum of Us holds sensory-friendly quiet hours on Sunday, September 13, 2026, from 10 to 11 a.m. During this hour the museum turns off specific audio and visual exhibit features in its main building to reduce stimulation. The museum is at 1350 El Prado in Balboa Park.
What to Expect
Noise-blocking headphones are free to check out at the main Admissions desk and at the entrance to the Cannibals: Myth & Reality exhibition. That exhibit's features stay on during the quiet hour. All exhibits return to full operation at 11 a.m. The museum stays open to the public throughout.
Admission
Admission during quiet hours is the same as standard admission and covers the full day. Questions go to publicprograms@museumofus.org or 619-239-2001.
The recurring Sunday program suits visitors who prefer a calmer museum, including San Diego families with children who are sensitive to noise.
