City Cycling Class
The City Cycling class runs Saturday, August 1, 2026 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the San Diego County Library La Mesa branch, 8074 Allison Avenue. The San Diego County Bike Coalition runs the class, and it is free and open to riders ages 12 and up.
What It Covers
The course is split into three parts: classroom instruction, parking-lot drills, and street riding, all with a certified cycling instructor. Topics include general bike maintenance, handling and maneuver skills, bike and helmet fitting, road rules, and rider responsibilities. The content applies to both standard bikes and e-bikes.
What to Bring
You need a bicycle in good working order and ready to ride. Class sizes are limited, so register only if you can attend.
The class gives La Mesa riders a hands-on way to build confidence for riding on local streets.
