
Intermediate Sailing: September 12/13
Intermediate Sailing is a two-day Navy MWR class held September 12 and 13, 2026 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at Fiddler's Cove Marina, 3205 Highway 75 on the Silver Strand near Coronado. The class is open to eligible MWR patrons and sponsored guests ages 16 and up. It requires at least five hours of prior sail time after a beginner course.
What Is Included
Registration covers boat rental, instruction, and textbooks. Class size runs from one to four students per boat, set by boat size and conditions. Participants earn a Navy Sailing Qualification Card on completion.
Cost and Requirements
Fees are $200 for ranks E1 to E6, $250 for E7 and above, $275 for retirees, veterans, and DoD employees, and $300 for sponsored civilian guests. A valid California Boater Card or course completion certificate is required at the first class, and registration closes at noon on September 11, 2026. Closed-toe shoes are required aboard all Navy MWR boats.
