San Diego Potters' Guild Open Studio and Pottery Demo
The San Diego Potters' Guild opens its working studio to the public on Saturday, July 18, from noon to 5 p.m., with live pottery demonstrations. Admission is free. The event is part of the American Craft Council's National Craft Open Studios Weekend, a nationwide effort inviting the public into the workspaces of craft artists.
Where to Find It The guild works out of Studio 29 in the Spanish Village Art Center, the historic cluster of artist studios in Balboa Park at 1770 Village Place. The center sits just off Park Boulevard, north of the Natural History Museum. Visitors can watch members throw and shape clay and see finished ceramics on display.
The San Diego Potters' Guild is a long-running, member-run ceramics studio and gallery in Balboa Park. The open studio gives visitors a close look at how the pieces in the gallery are made.
