We Will Rock You

New Village Arts stages We Will Rock You, the jukebox musical built on the songs of Queen, in Carlsbad. The production runs from August 7 through September 20, 2026, with the next performance on September 11 at 7:30 pm on the Ray Charles Stage in the Conrad Prebys Theatre. The Show

The musical features more than 20 Queen songs, including the title track. Ben Elton wrote the story and script, set in a future where algorithms dominate and independent music has been suppressed. A group of rebels sets out to recover rock and roll. Sheldon Gomabon directs, with musical direction by Erin Vanderhyde-Gross and choreography by Erica Kahn.

The Venue

New Village Arts is at 2787 State Street in Carlsbad Village, near the Carlsbad Village Coaster station.

The run gives North County a full-length Queen musical through late September. It suits Carlsbad and coastal residents who want a night of live theater and familiar songs.
